Sunday Salon – October 19, 2008

Welcome! Welcome! Ahem…sort of groggy this morning. We went bowling last night. Not something I do regularly but I think I did pretty well. Okay, the kids may have done better than me but really, who is counting?

I’ve been keeping up with all the Read-a-Thon posts and I’m very impressed. A lot of pages have been read. I thought about participating this time around, but it would require quite a bit of planning on my part since there are kids in the house. Planning like, oh, sending them away for the day. Maybe next time. A day of reading does sound tempting.

Today I plan to finish reading Infidel and then I may crack open The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I have to do this in between running more errands and taking the kids to a Kids Expo they heard about. It’s always a bit of a challenge to get it all in.

Have a good Sunday!

Book Sale Finds

Don’t you love a good book sale? While many of you folks are participating in the Read-a-Thon, I had to run errands and came across a book sale. A LIBRARY book sale. I figure this makes up for my overdue book.

I had the kidlets and hubby in tow and they were all restless so I only ended up with three books:

  1. East of the Mountains, by David Guterson
  2. My Antonia, Willa Cather
  3. The Pilot’s Wife, by Anita Shreve

Anyone read any of these? Now that I am back (and kidlet #2 fell asleep on my leg) I am going to go see how you guys are doing with the Read-a-Thon.

Chatting with friends about books and life…
