2017 – Last Book of the Year (What Will it Be?)

2017 - Last Book of the Year

Like all of you, I put a lot of emphasis on the FIRST book of the year because it tends to set the tone for the year to come. But what about the LAST book of the year? It’s just as important!

I have a couple more reviews to write but I am trying to plan my reading so that I end with this gem, The Master & Margarita.

The Master and Margarita

I have no idea if I will love this book or not but many have declared this to be their most beloved book, including a few trusted reading friends.

What will your last book of the year be?

  1. I too think last books of the year are important! I have 2 books I’m taking on holidays: Days Without End by Sebastian Barry and The Leavers by Lisa Ko. I hope to get to both. Just finishing Celeste Ng’s book.

  2. Um. I don’t really consider the last or the first book of the year. It tends to be whatever I am reading, usually a review copy of some sort. I guess this puts me in the minority.

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of The Master & Margarita before, so I clicked the link to see what it was about. I can’t wait to read what you think about it.

The last book I’m reading in 2017 is Nomadland by Jessica Bruder

The last audiobook I’m listening to is Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

  4. I wanted to read this badly (already read 100 pages last year) but totally forgot about it when I started my Russian lit reading list this year. I’ll probably read it next year.

  5. You are really challenging yourself to end the year! I like this idea about really putting some thought into that final book. I tend to be trying to finish up challenges and reading just to meet that requirement instead of choosing something I really want. I’m going to put some thought into what I’ll read next week to end the year!

    1. Did you select a last book? My first book of the year is going to have to be Nutshell for book club so if your “last book” is dictated by challenges then I totally get it.

  6. Oh man, I have no idea what mine will be! Hopefully it’ll be something awesome I’ve just gotten for Christmas, as books make the best and most joyous presents. The Master and Margarita is not a favorite of mine, but my sister adores it, and you at least appear to have the copy with the coolest cover. So you’ll have that going for you. :p
