Grease WAS the word and now it’s all over and done with.
The Girl had the best time ever! She’s had fun with shows before but this time, she was in the older group and got to hang with the teens. This made it fun for a lot of reasons but as part of the older group, you just get to do more on stage.
Here she is donning the iconic Rydell cheer uniform.
And here she is as a Beauty School Dropout. That scene was so much fun and she got to be in the show with her very good friend, as seen above.
This was the first time we’ve done a summer show. The pace was a little slower, which I liked and there were only four shows this time around but overall, it was a lot of fun. I am still completely exhausted though. The Girl? She seems fine!
I never did get around to posting a Sunday Salon and there is no food in my house but we are all pretty happy given it’s Monday and all. Next show? Annie and The Teen decided to do it after all so both kids will be in that one this February. Rehearsals begin in September.
Now, coffee and lots of it.
Yes, coffee is in order. She does look like she’s having so much fun!
The coffee my co-worker brought in tastes stale. Bleh. Not happy.

It sounds like it was a fantastic experience! Now rest…order takeaway!
Grease is such a fun show! I enjoyed all the pictures on instagram, too. Enjoy that well-deserved coffee 😉
Some others grabbed some shots of the entire cast but since they are mostly minors, I don’t want to share the pics without their consent. Otherwise, I’d have more pics.

What a beautiful girl, and there’s someone in her face that shows her inner beauty, too.
Thank you! She is a good kid. We had a lot of fun backstage.

I am glad you daughter enjoyed being a part of the show so much. Grease is one of my favorite productions. 🙂
I’ve never seen Annie on stage before. Sounds like you will be busy again soon enough!
The shows do keep us busy and my son will also be doing The 39 Steps at the same time, but he’s dropped a few activities so I think he can manage it.

The pics you’ve been posting from The Girl’s GREASE foray have been SO MUCH FUN! Seriously adorable.
I wanted to share pics of the Pink ladies and T Birds but they are minors and I don’t want to post pics of them without their parent’s permission. It was such a fun show!

Looks like your daughter had a lot of fun! What character was she in Grease? I love that musical. Annie is a fantastic musical, your kids should have fun doing it–great characters. And I must say again that your kids seem like great people!
And I definitely agree with you on the lots of coffee thing…never could get the hang of Mondays.
She has yet to get a speaking part in this company. In this show, she got a dancing/singing part in Beauty School Dropout but as part of ensemble got to be in a lot of dance scenes. All of the main leads were older, since they were smoking cigs and all. LOL.

Grease looks like it was so much fun – even though it was exhausting! What memories! At least you have August off!
The photos show just how much fun she was having!
When she did her very first big show, she was very shy and scared when it actually came time to go on stage. I remember her grabbing me and not wanting to go on. It took most of that show and another 6 months for her to be comfortable being on stage. Now, I can’t even find her half the time. She is all over the place socializing and sometimes I even miss her entrance when I am working backstage because she no longer looks for me.

Definitely looks like she had a lot of fun! I never had shows like these where I went to school (Dubai). We had shorter shows that were more weekday affairs and student-organized. I had more dance events like these and I know my mom loved it all but at the end of the day, she just wanted to get a lot of rest. Love these pictures!
I should have explained better. This is not through school. She belongs to a community theatre group for kids. They get to perform in a big venue for the regular shows but for the summer production they use a local high school.

She is adorable! Glad this one wasn’t as insane but I’m sure you are still exhausted. I’ve been having trouble getting my Sunday posts up too. I used to do them Saturday night, but lately that has not been happening! (What am I doing instead? Either drinking wine or sleeping.)
She’s such a cutie! I don’t think such shows get any easier, but can you imagine life without them? It is going to be SO dull!
Enjoy your break from performances and get that coffee!!
No Sunday show here, but it was a show weekend as The Wife had two shows back to back on Saturday: matinee and then evening. I caught the evening performance and it was great.
And of course, she’s not exhausted. She’s young. 🙂 Um, wait, I wasn’t implying anything… 😉
The performers don’t really get tired from all of it. That is what you MEANT to say, right? Actually, it took a while for it to hit my daughter as she did not want to go to camp today.

Yes, that’s what I meant to say…um, yes, that’s it. 🙂 And yes, it does hit later. My wife slept for a long time the next day (of course working midnight shift after all that might have helped). Cast party/picnic this Friday (family invited too): Can’t wait. Ought to be fun.
Cute photos! Grease — oh yes, what year was that? IMDB says 1978. We are dating ourselves even remembering. But it’s still fun for your daughter in 2014.
No kidding! I was 10 when the movie came out and saw it at the Chinese theater in Hollywood. I played the record until it was broken.

Look at how grown up your daughter is! Lovely and glad she is having fun! 🙂
Annie!! And The Girl is such a little beauty. Glad she had such a great time.
We have been involved with lots of shows but this one was a lot of fun. The Girl is just old enough to do stuff on her own now. Even her make-up although the hair is still a work in progress 😉 But every time I looked for her backstage she was where she was supposed to be and not wandering around like she has with other shows. Heck, she never once even looked for me in the wings. That made me a little sad.
