Today is the release date for Stephen King’s new one. I thought I had heard that it would only be available as an e-book but it’s the other way around. It’s only available in paperback! I may have to swing by the bookstore to pick it up.
I would love to stop by a bookstore on the way home but all of the bookstores close to my work have been closed down! Which means. I will have to drive out of my way to get a copy before going home. I’ll try to fit it in. Anyone else picking up a copy? Oh wait! Maybe the university bookstore has it. Must check.
Sounds like just the slightly trashy book you were looking for!
Yay! Seriously, Yay!
If there’s a clown in it, I’m not even gonna go there… :p
I’m definitely getting it. I saw him on the Today show the other morning (I hate that show, but I love King so I watched.) He recommended three books for the summer: two were by his sons and the other was by some suspense writer. I thought it was cool he mentioned his son’s books – he’s a good dad 😉 Anyhow, this book sounds great and he said he wanted it to be a throwback to the pulp books from back in the day. Sounds like he had fun with this one. And he wanted to make it so you had to get it from a bookstore – although I’ll be ordering mine from Amazon (no book stores near me). Enjoy the book!
I just caught the Today interview. The webpage lists a couple more books, one is Life After Life the one where the dead girl keeps reliving her moment of death. I live in a big city and we have one bookstore but it’s across town and not on my way home. Between work and home there are none! Another blogger suggested Target and I do have one on my way home. You think I’d find it there? Not as appealing as walking into some great Indie store to get it, but it might work.
Target! Great idea! I didn’t even think of that – I’m definitely heading there later 😉 I’m pretty sure they will have it in stock. And, I know which book you are talking about – I bought that one, but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Too many review books and not enough fun books – I need to fix that. I’m reading Wedding Night now and loving it! Silly fun is just what I needed 🙂 Enjoy the new King book!
I just got the King book. Found one copy at the University’s bookstore but it was really expensive. I bought it, but I think you will find it cheaper at Target.
If it was an ebook I’d have picked it up. Hopefully they’ll have one sooner or later. I’m just listening to Under the Dome and liking it.
King said that he wants people to walk into a store to buy it and that there won’t be an ebook but you never know. I like the idea of walking into a store…if only there was one by me.
Have fun reading it. I can’ read Stephen King, too scary for me!
There is only one book that gave me the creeps and that was IT. The rest is just good storytelling. You are missing out.
I read an interview with King about this one and it does sound like it will be good. I’m not one to rush out for a King novel though so likely will sit back and wait to hear what others have to say first. I hope you enjoy it when you get a copy, Ti!
He’s talking about not doing ebooks! 🙂
His dream is for everyone to walk into a bookstore to pick this one up off the rack. RACK! The spin kind!
Let me know how it is! He has been on a pretty good roll lately, but now and again he can wander off into the wilderness. He does have a bizarre sense of creativity…sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The sound of it really reminds me of his older work.
Every time I see him in an interview talking about this one, he is like a kid in a candy store! It’s supposed to be like the books he read as a kid. I can’t wait.
Gotta finish Under the Dome — lots to go, but I do plan to read it. Wish it was available and an eBook.
Can’t wait to read this one too!
Yes…he was on a morning show explaining why no ebook and it’s because he wants it to be true to the era…how creepy is this cover? Totally scares me!
Loving the cover! Totally digging the pulp vibe! Enjoy.
I hope to get to this one eventually. As of now I’m reading his Under the Dome 🙂
I need to stop reading King. I can’t have a steady diet of his books! I don’t think I ‘ll read anymore until 2014. One a year is fine. (SSSSHHHhhhhhhh – don’t tell – but I read Under the Dome in 4 days. I let it overtake my life and that just can’t be allowed to happen.)
His writing is like crack.
Dome is definitely getting me interested in reading more King again. This one is going to be passed around my house.
I cannot wait to read this one!!! HUGE King fan here!!
