My first DNF (did not finish) of the year and I am so disappointed about it! I really liked the sound of this one, but the reading experience was a struggle. It just didn’t pull me in and I read through about 25% on my Kindle before I decided to give up.
If anyone else has read it, and feels differently about it, let me know. I don’t like to give up on a book, but my time is valuable and I just had to move on.
I’ve seen this particular cover or some similar version of it on multiple books over the last couple of years…weird. Ain’t nobody got time for books that don’t pull you in :p
I admit. I went online when I had doubts and read some other reviews. It didn’t seem like it was going to get better according to the review so that sealed the deal for me!
Sorry it didn’t work for you. I’m not familiar with it at all.
I can’t even remember if I read it…OMG!
I’ve never even heard of this book, but based on the cover alone, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up – yes I sometimes pick books based on their covers (such a bad habit). Anyhow, sorry it didn’t work out for you. However, your time is precious and you should spend it on a worthwhile read – hope the next book turns out to be a great read 😉
I’ve seen one bad review, I think, so maybe the DNF is wise. I want to read it but as my e-galley expired, it probably won’t happen. Esp now.
I’ve never heard of this one, but I will definitely steer clear of it. Getting 25 percent through it, you definitely gave it more than a chance to improve. Better luck next time!
I’ve never heard of this book either. The cover really doesn’t do anything for me either. Hmm, 25 percent is quite a bit. I think you gave it more than its due.
I’m not familiar with this one. Bummer when you run into DNFs that you want to like!
I normally enjoy books where the house is a character as well, but I didn’t find that in the 25% I read. It might have been on the edge of picking up but I just didn’t have the patience.
Bummer it looks like it would have been incredible!
I know! I wanted it to be really good.
How disappointing, Ti, especially when this booksounds so promising and unique. I read a few reviews, good and bad and I def. saw the potential for this not working out. DNF is hard but time is short and there are so many books to read…
Thank you for your honest opinion about this book :o)
I haven’t even heard of this one Ti, so I have nothing to offer. What a bummer though!
