Here’s what I plan to read for read-a-thon next week:
- The Girl Who Played with Fire
- Her Fearful Symmetry
- The Last Song
- Forgetting English
- A Sportscaster’s Guide to Watching Football
- New Moon
- The Return
- Betsy-Tacy & Tib
- Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill
- Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown
- Cheerful Weather for the Wedding
I tried to mix it up a bit. There is some short stuff and some non-fiction stuff, so in between the heavier books I’m sure I will pick those up. Since The Hub will be out of town, I need to plan my food beforehand. Not just my food but food for the kids too because my little one is a round-the-clock-snacker. I’m looking forward to it though! I can’t wait to catch-up and get some of these read. Right now I’m working on my posting schedule. Last time, I felt as if I was on the computer all the time. Either I was posting an update or responding to the cheering squad. This time I want to spend the majority of my time reading.
In your picture you have the Girl Who Played With Fire, did you meant that one? I haven’t read an of the Larsson books yet, but I am looking forward to them.
Yep, you are right. I meant the other book! I fixed it.
I’m kicking off the readathon w/ The Last Song for that horrible dare from Trish….wanna start with it, too, so we can suffer together? I’ll be tweeting about it at #IHeartTheSpark.
Great mix in your list. I’m intrigued by “A Sportscaster’s Guide to Watching Football” – will be looking forward to hearing the story behind that one! And nice Halloween decoration!
Great list and great idea to get some non-fiction in there. I think that is what I am lacking. How to you go about getting your posting schedule ready? That was the one bugaboo for me last time: balancing blog time with reading time. Do tell…
*smiles*

Kim, I think this time, I am going to have all of my update posts as drafts already made up and then I will just plug in pertinent info as I go along.
Her Fearful Symmetry is a great choice, as are the Betsy and Tacy books.
You are hereby excused from replying to any cheering I do.
Good luck with reading that much – I’m envious. Even if I devoted my complete days to reading, I’d probably only get through half of those. Although – I have been reading at least 1 book a week (despite working 60+ hours/week)
I was so completely taken with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, that I’ve ordered the next on as well on audio. And just last night I finished Her Fearful Symmetry! It had mixed reviews but seriously, it was one crazy read!
Great variety Ti. I want to get to Her Fearful Symmetry sometime soon. I need to look into that schedule things, since this is my 1st year. have fun.
The Girl Who Played With Fire is a great book! I really want to read Her Fearful Symmetry.
Great Choices
Great variety of books!
I think you have a really nice balance of long and short books there!
I considered New Moon, but I don’t think I”m going to go for it now. woo-hoo can’t wait for the readathon!
My husband won’t be around either as he’ll be working. I plan on using plastic cups and paper plates so I don’t have to do the dishes, lol. Also, like you, am preparing our meals the day before and will just reheat. I also stocked up on snacks for the kids so they don’t bug me so much heheh.
I like your list of books as well as your strategy. I’m hoping to concentrate on reading too.
I am so impressed with you organization for this read-a-Thon! Good luck, Ti!
This stack of books reminds me of the Confessions of a Reader post I want to do!
I love “Betsy-Tacy & Tib.” And your stack of books looks fabulous. You’ll have to take a break to enter our mini-challenge at The Book Case!
You’re brave to attempt this with little one(s?) around and no backup…maybe reading will be a family affair?
Great list! I’m hoping to get to The Girl Who Played With Fire, too. Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
I just read The Last Song and enjoyed it. Good luck this weekend!
Looks like a nice list of books. Good luck!
Catching up and getting to some books that are just ones that I picked out are the main reasons I’m seriously considering the read-a-thon. Well, that and I don’t want to miss out on all of the fun!
I am doing the readathon for the very first time. I’m kind of peeking at everyone’s lists and reading about their game plans. I have no idea what I’m getting into. I need to get a book list and a schedule going, Great idea with the prepared post drafts. Smart thinking! I like your assortment of books too. Good luck!
I think Her Fearful Symmetry will be a good Read-a-Thon book — the plot moves along fairly well, plus it’s got some creepy ghost stuff. Don’t read it in the middle of the night 🙂
A very nice mix. And “Her Fearful Symmetry” is a quick read .. as is “New Moon” (even thought it is long.) have fun.
I hear you! I plan to spend more time reading and less time online this time, though the cheerleaders really do help! I only finished 1 book last time, so the list I post (hopefully today) probably won’t have much of a dent by the time the readathon ends. LOL
I think the Betsy-Tacy books would be great when you need something short, mindless, and charming. I loved them!
Have a great time!
This looks like a great list of books. I’m still not quite sure what I’ll read. I’m going to firm up my list by tomorrow. Part of it is since this is the first time I’ve done the readathon, I don’t know quite what to expect. But I have a mixture of books. I’m going to remember what you said about feeling like you were on the computer all of the time. I can completely see that happening to me. My husband is doing the readathon as well. I think he’ll end up sleeping most of the time. He usually falls asleep 15-20 mins after he starts reading! LOL No matter what, I’m looking forward to it!
Great stack of books! I’ll be cheering you and the rest of the read-a-thon participants on.
