All Moved Over (sort of)

Welcome to my new digs! As you can see, it’s very similar to what I had but much, much cleaner. My 3-column template with Blogger was not loading consistently and managed to cause me much grief. I also didn’t care for the lack of threaded comments. Not to mention the very long name of my blog. I feel as if I’ve lost ten pounds just by shortening it. I hope I didn’t lose anyone in the process (crossing fingers and toes). Please update our readers and blog rolls to reflect the new address.

It may take awhile for me to get used to the new features and I am still toying with a custom header so that may change down the line but I hope you all like it. For those that are participating in my Confession of a Reader series, I will post the new button on my sidebar tomorrow so please grab it if you want an early start to Saturday’s post.

What do you think?

  1. I changed my links so I can find you! I think your new home looks great! I’m glad you kept that header picture since I really like it! This blog looks larger, lighter and more open. It’s very nice, I hope it works well for you.
(When I’m ready to change things up some day in the future, I may come find you for advice!)

  2. I updated you in my Google Reader, and get your posts, but for some reason it comes up as Title Unknown, instead of Book Chatter. I’ll just have to remember that that is you!

    1. It has something to do with my header title being removed but I added back and hid it but maybe it takes awhile for it to come thru? You can rename it in Google Reader but I will keep looking.

  3. I am in awe! The layout is GREAT and seemed to have accomplished the move effortlessly. I am not sure that I will ever be brave enough to attempt this!

I will update my reader right now 🙂

  4. Welcome to your new home! I have had no regrets at all switching from blogger, to being self-hosted and using wordpress. I thinkyou will be happy with your decision to change over!

    1. It wasn’t too bad but I chickened out and didn’t go the self-host route. I just got the domain name and then re-created what I wanted in WordPress and then brought all the posts and comments over. I just have to re-direct review links to the WordPress posts now. Maybe next year I’ll take the last step and self host but for now I am happy with this.

  5. Your new site looks awesome! I would love to do the same but am chicken as I’m afraid I’d lose everything. Was it a big adjustment to go from Blogger to WordPress? What’s the difference between what you’ve done here and self hosting?

I like your name and header picture. I identify you with that white adirondack chair that is so calming to look at!

  6. Just wanted to stop by and say while I’m ridiculously behind in commenting, I’ve updated your feed in my Google Reader! Congratulations and I like the new look!
