The Sunday Salon: I Love Long Weekends

Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes! Lunch was great. Actually, it was more than great. It was really, really good and I am still thinking about that meal. My son was about to spend his money on a PSP but decided to honor his word and bought me The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo after all. That says a lot, don’t you think? PSP…MOM…PSP…MOM. Mom wins! My daughter had all of her BFF’s at daycare draw me pictures. So cute! The Hub got my fave perfume. Life is good.

However, today my daughter woke with a tonsil the size of a golf ball (no joke). She says her throat hurts but she doesn’t have a fever and although her lymph nodes are quite large as well, I have to say that her body is fighting whatever it is, so I am giving her a lot of Vitamin C and having her rest.

After a breakfast of pancakes and bacon the kids are now doing their own thing, as is the Hub. I plan to continue my Silly 80’s Movie Marathon and then later I will read a few chapters of The Last Dickens while the Hub bbq’s our dinner. Not much else going on.

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend.

  1. I'm so glad you had a good lunch! I always get the spaghetti arrabiatta there! So tell us, was your cake made out of mashed potatoes?!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm so glad you had a good birthday and won out over the PSP! I hope your daughter's able to fight off whatever bug that is!

  3. You'll have to be sure to read it right away for him.

My son and I are butting heads and I keep losing my temper. I'd say I need to get away, but where would I go? I might try to read a bit once I get boys lunched and in bed.

  4. I am glad you had such a great birthday, Ti. It says a lot about your son when Mom wins out over the PSP. That must have been a very difficult decision! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Ti!

  5. I'm glad things went well for your birthday! I hope the tonsil looks better soon. My son has had large tonsils for a year and the doctor is having us keep an eye on them. Thankfully no golf ball sized tonsils over here though.
