Right now I am making a Green Chile Corn Casserole and Bacon Wrapped Club Crackers for a pool party that we are going to this afternoon. I forgot the most important ingredient for the corn casserole (you guessed it, the corn!) so I had to run to the store this morning at the crack of dawn to get it. So much for sleeping in!

Right now I am reading Fear The Worst . I am also reading Bridge of Sighs for my book club and The Seamstress for Book Club Girl’s Blog Talk show with the author which takes place this Thursday, August 6th. Ack! It’s August already!
What I Did
I reviewed one book this week, Historic Photos of the Chinese in California by Hannah Clayborn. It was a fascinating look at California history. It’s part of a series and I would be interested in seeing some of the other books in the series.
It’s been a good week for reading but I am reading so many books that it doesn’t feel as if I am making much progress. I try not to do that but it happens sometimes when there are too many books that I want to read.
What I’m Excited About
I am very excited about Book Blogger Appreciation Week. Details can be found here but from now until August 15th you can nominate your favorite book blogs. You don’t even have to have a blog to nominate. To nominate your favorite blogs click here.
I will be announcing the winners of my Foreign Tongue / Lip Gloss giveaway tomorrow. I can’t wait to see who won!
I hope you are all enjoying the weekend with a good book in hand đ
Very cute picture!
Okay, I'm intrigued–what is bacon wrapped Club crackers? It can't be as simple as what it says!
The beach looks great–it's my one regret about settling near our families–no beach.
Your beach doesn't look very crowded. The beach we went to was packed. The kids are so cute!
You take club crackers, sprinkle them with parmesan cheese and then wrap each them in a half slice of thinly sliced bacon. Pop in he oven on a cookie sheet (with rack so it can drain) and cook at 250 for 2 hrs.
The picture of the kids is awesome. I am so jealous of you guys at the beach. Yum on the casserole and the Club crackers-they both sound good. Have a great day!
Cute picture! Sounds like a fun day! I think I am finally getting ready to pick up a book, I've been reading blogs most of the day so far!
Happy Sunday!
I loved 'Bridge of Sighs'. I think Russo gets better with every book, which is why I can't wait for his new one, due out this month, I think.
Can you share the recipe for the bacon wrapped club crackers?
Trips to the beach, pool parties. Definately sounds like a fun weekend!
I can never read more than one book at a time. Because, like you said, it doesn't feel like progress is made on any of the books, and I need to feel a sense of accomplishment. Also, my brain goes funny trying to keep the books straight. I'm getting old!
Game On Diet is over baby! đ
That picture is very cute, looks like it was a great time! I'm excited about BBAW as well.
I'm on my way over for some of that Green Chile Corn Casserole! đ I hope you enjoyed the pool party, Ti!
I'll be curious to know what you think of Bridge of Sighs and The Seamstress. Both are books I've been wanting to read.
Have a great week!
It looks the kids were having a blast at the beach…lucky you to be so close to one! The recipes sound delicious…can you share them? Have a great week!
I love the picture. They look so happy.
You know, I am always reading several books at a time. I know what you mean though, as it often seems like you are staying in one place.
Love the pic of your kids as usual. I'm a little jealous. đ We used to live walking distance to the beach, but moved back to the city a couple of months ago, and we miss the beach!!!!! Happy week, Ti!! đ
Um, how do you make that corn casserole??
What a great beach pic. Glad you all had a good time. My daughter still manages to have fun playing with boxes and other packaging materials. LOL

That beach is calling my name. Your kids look like movie stars.
