Friday Finds is hosted by Should Be Reading. Here’s my one find:
Wicked Plants by Amy Stewart
A tree that sheds poison daggers; a glistening red seed that stops the heart; a shrub that causes paralysis; a vine that strangles; and a leaf that triggered a war. Stewart takes on over two hundred of Mother Nature’s most appalling creations in an A to Z of plants that kill, maim, intoxicate, and otherwise offend.
Menacing botanical illustrations and splendidly ghastly drawings create a fascinating portrait of the evildoers that may be lurking in your own backyard. Drawing on history, medicine, science, and legend, this compendium of bloodcurdling botany will entertain, alarm, and enlighten even the most intrepid gardeners and nature lovers.
First off I love the cover of this one! Secondly, what a unique concept for a book. I would love to read this one.

Very unique and a fantastic cover — great find!
I really want to read this one too!
I featured this one in my Friday Finds this week too!
hat a neat idea for a book! And, I agree, the cover is great!
I saw this on another find and it looks like such a fun read! For now, it shall be another book added to my ever growing wish list.

Wow…very different and interesting! Good find!
I love the cover too! And having read about just some of the famous people who were killed by their "medical treatments" (e.g., George Washington), this sounds like one that would really interest me!
This looks really good!
Seems like a good find!
Come find Colin Cotterill
I saw this earlier this week and I really want to read it.
This is the one I was interested in as well. Did you check out the video at the website?
Nicole – the video on her website is a hoot. She's so "matter of fact" about it.
This caught my eye somewhere else too. Nice find! Here are my finds: (1) and (2)
I keep seeing this title pop up in the most unexpected places. 🙂 It does sound like it will a good one.
Very interesting book. It does look and sound intriguing. It surely has my attention. Great find. =)
I love the green on the author's website, too. And I really want to know what killed Lincoln's mom…and how.
I've seen this around a bit. I'd be curious to see what you'd think of it if you get to read it before I would think of reading it. lol. It is a really cool cover though.
I thought this one looked great too!
Ti this looks great. As a plant lover and after recently trekking through the woods on an edible plant walk, this book looks fascinating.
I'm putting it in my shopping cart.
Have a great week…Wisteria
