It’s Time For Summer!

I love lists!! I especially love summer reading lists. During the summer months I work the same amount of hours that I normally do but for some reason, maybe the fact that the days are longer, I feel as if I have more time to read.

This year I will be spending a lot of time by the pool because I signed my daughter up for eight weeks of swim lessons. That means that I will have an extra thirty minutes of reading time each day. That’s heaven to me!

There are a lot of lists coming out right now but the list that I always keep an eye out for is NPR’s. Well, NPR actually comes out with several lists for summer so if you want to check them out, click here.

This summer I hope to pick up and finish the rest of the Harry Potter series. I stopped at book four (when I had kid #2) and never picked them up again. I got completely sidetracked by sleepless nights.

What one book are you looking forward to this summer?

  1. Funny you should mention this–I just sat down yesterday and typed up a list of the books I want to read this summer. The one I am really dying to read, and hope to real soon, is Shanghai Girls. Maybe after Misery–which I am 2/3 of the way through. I had to take a little break the other day and read something else a bit lighter. I am actually having disturbing dreams and I think it is realated.

I will probably write about my list this week-and I hope to look at NPR’s list when I am not at work! 😉

  2. Thanks for the link to the NPR list. I am looking forward to buying Looking For Salvation At The Dairy Queen by Susan Gregg Gilmore. It is due to be released on June 9th. I am leaving for vacation on June 20th for North Myrtle Beach SC, and that book is going with me! 🙂

    Happy Reading!!

  3. I don’t have a special “summer” reading list, although I’m actually starting to plan my reading 2-4 books ahead, which is kind of like making a list – except all of the books are in my house already.

I tend to feel like I have more reading time in the summer too, but I’ve always thought it was because I watch less TV then :-).

  4. I’m sure you’ll love the rest of the Harry Potter books – they’re so much fun! I’d read through them again before the next movie if I had time. Instead I’m going to read the Outlander series (for fun and for the Outlander challenge) because the next book is coming out in September.

  5. The NPR list is one of my favorites also. I’m looking forward to reading Hunting and Gathering, a book recommended to me by Laguna Beach Books, they’ve hand sold over 550 copies, so it must be good. I’m jealous of you though, reading HP 5, 6 and 7 for the first time!

  6. Thanks for posting the NPR link! I don’t have plans yet for my summer reading list. But, I will start making a list as summer vacation gets closer. 🙂

  7. The NPR summer reading list is something new to me, thanks! Enjoy HP! I’m glad I got done with all 7 books before my last baby popped up. Lol. 😀

  8. I have so much reading to catch up on. But I would like to get to The 19th Wife this summer. I have had this for awhile.

  9. No list…but I am starting to wonder about what I should take for my week in Oregon in late July. It’s not to early to pack the books, is it?

  10. I have the NPR page as a bookmark, but thanks for reminding me to look at it. LOL.
One book on that list I read as an ARC for a magazine was Follow Me.
I loved it!!! I highly recommend it to you.
I’m looking forward to reading The Heretic Queen.

  11. I have to spend some time to look through the NPR list..it looks great! I don’t have a summer list yet and need to give that more thought.
