My Need to Read (or Finish) Pronto List!

When I find myself a tad overwhelmed by my reading list, it helps for me to see the book covers all in one spot. I keep a spreadsheet to track all of the books that are sent to me and I use it to create a timeline of sorts so I can schedule my reading appropriately. However, nothing seems to work as well as seeing the covers all in one place. So this is what this post is about. This is my visual aid to myself.

Cemetery Dance by Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston

I have a handful of pages to finish on this one. I just need to sit down and finish it! I brought it to work today so hopefully this will be crossed off my list by the end of today.

Love and Biology at the Center of the Universe by Jennie Shortridge

I am almost done with this one as well. There’s a lot for me to relate to here so I have been taking my time with it but I hope to be done with this one by this weekend. I have a little surprise planned for later with this one too.

Foreign Tongue by Vanina Marsot

I just started this one. I am planning something special in conjunction with the review and there will be some surprises for this one as well!

Shanghai Girls by Lisa See

I got this one as part of Library Thing’s Early Reviewer program. I am halfway done with this one. I blame the Festival of Books because I was all gung-ho on reading it and then got sidetracked with the event. Had a hard time picking it up again but plan to finish it this weekend.

Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

My friend recommended this one to me ages ago and I haven’t had a chance to read it. I promised him that I would get to it this month so it is on the timeline.

Prayers for Bobby by Leroy Aarons

This is my book club’s pick for June. Haven’t started it yet but I still have some time for this one.

There now. After this weekend I should be caught up. Not too bad, right?

  1. I just started a spreadsheet myself to keep my reading schedule in order…boy it’s getting complicated! lol

  2. I need to do this, really, really bad. You are an inspiration. I just need to get to it.

I agree with bermudaonion- at least yours look good šŸ˜‰

    happy reading!

  3. I read and reviewed Shanghai Girls. I really loved that book. We went to visit Chinatown after I read it!

I just finished Foreign Tongue. I borrowed it from Lisa at Books on the Brain. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending. I can’t wait for your review.

    Your blog is looking great!

  4. There are some good books in there! Although 3 of ’em have endings that might make you a little crazy.

  5. Jo-Jo: It can get complicated when the books that you requested don’t come when they are supposed to. It’s happened to me twice so then I added other books in their place and then they came. Which threw me totally off.

Kathy: Yes! They are good so as least I have that going for me.

Bethany: It’s just so helpful to see it in print I guess.

Sheri: Chinatown in L.A. is such an interesting place. I haven’t been there for ages. BTW..thanks for the compliment. I am trying!

Jill: Wha? Crazy endings? I can take a guess at which 3 you are referring to.

  6. I have a notebook where I keep track of review copies and a special shelf for these books. I’ll be reading <>Shanghai Girls<> soon, and I’m looking forward to your thoughts.

  7. I can relate..it seems that I’m always in catch up mode and feel bad when those stacks of TBR books is so high. You have a great list of books to read. I just finished Shanghai Girls and you must finish this one soon!

  8. Oh gosh, I wish I could catch up. I have a notebook and a calendar which helps. Looks like you have some good books to read there.

  9. The spreadsheet helps keep you on track, doesn’t it?

I loved LOVE AND BIOLOGY! Mira felt like she could be a good friend.

Jealous that you’re reading SHANGHAI GIRLS … I’ll look for your review!
