Hey, we’re all friends here, right? I’m having a little bit of a breakdown. Not a true breakdown, but one of those “being back at work sucks” kind of breakdowns.
It started late yesterday when someone asked me to test Gmail. Somehow, the test account that I created wiped out my personal Gmail account. Additionally, it screwed-up my Google account so I was unable to get into this blog. I’ve no idea how the two are even connected but after pulling out my hair, I think I fixed it.
So today, I was given two more projects to work on. Hey, I’m a multi-tasker from WAY back. No problem, except my desktop continues to lock-up if I have more than a few applications open and with the projects at hand, I have to have several open at once so it’s not going well. Above is a pic of my frozen screen. Nothing is working except my screen capturing software, which is pretty funny if you think about it. I mean, what’s to capture when the screen is frozen?
Additionally, I am really wanting to get back to Twilight. I was in la-la land while reading it and it was a good place to be in. I feel resentful that work is interfering with that. On a happier note, my book group meets tonight so at least I will manage to get some book talk in later today.
Oh, and I almost forgot to explain the title of this post. My daughter doesn’t understand why I have to work so the other day, my husband told her that Mommy works so we can have money to go on vacation. Um, hello… but the money Mommy makes pays for the house you live in, the clothes on your back and oh yeah… the food you put in your mouth but I guess it’s nicer to think that I go to work to pay for vacation. Hmmm.
I’m sorry you’re having such a rough day! >>On the computer issue, mine at work has been doing something similar, but my problem is Internet Explorere. If I leave it open for a while with several tabs in use, the entire thing locks up and I have to to CTRL ALT DELETE to force it to close. Ugh.>>And I totally get you on the Twilight thing. I got into them over Chritmas/New Years vacation so I had finished all but book 4 before I had to go back to work. And I was SO MAD to have to sit at work and NOT READ IT! It was killing me. Book 2 was the one I was most addicted to though … I think I might have had to call out sick from work to stay home and finish reading that one (shame on me, I know … luckily it didn’t come to that!).
Vacation is a much better thought! I feel your pain at work because this week has been really tough for me…I am so looking forward to kicking back during my lunch hour and reading for awhile. I work at a private college and the beginning of the semester can be tough!
Yikes, you’re having a bit of a day there aren’t you. The whole computer mess would definitely have me pulling out my hair and not being able to get in my blog would send me in a tizzy-lol. I’ve no patience when things start going wrong. I totally get the wanting to read instead of work. I’m just about to get to work myself and I’d certainly rather be reading the books I’ve got started. Hope your day gets better Ti and you get everything straightened out.
Ugh! Sorry to hear that there are so many problems with your computer!>>What book is your group discussing tonight? Ours is up for *Olive Kitteridge*. Fantastic book with intense slice-of-life stories.
I hope your day got better. My work computer freezes ALL THE TIME. makes me crazy.
