The Sunday Salon: The Return to Regular Programming

Now that Book Blogger Appreciation Week is over, I find myself a bit antsy and twitchy and unable to focus. Bloggers around the blogosphere call it a hangover of sorts, I just feel like a runner that is waiting for the gun to go off. Bam!

I paced myself well over the week. A little blogging, a little blog reading…more blogging…more blog reading but very little BOOK reading. So today is all about reading. The two books that I am reading right now:

Of Bees and Mist (review copy)
Goldengrove (review copy for an upcoming TLC book tour)

I’ve got other books going as well but these are the ones I plan to start today. Aren’t the covers gorgeous? They remind me of fall and right now, with it being 100 degrees outside, I need to be reminded of fall.

Tonight I am making meatloaf and mashed potatoes for our sunday supper. We tend to eat comfort food around here on Sundays so that is what’s on the menu tonight. For those that are following the Game On Diet, this is my free day 😉

On a personal note, on Wednesday, my son is auditioning for a couple of parts in Lil’ Abner so he’s been walking around practicing his lines and my daughter, the one with the photographic memory, has already memorized all of HIS lines just from listening to him. For those that are familiar with the musical, he is auditioning for Pappy Yokum and Available Jones. I sure hope he gets ones of these.

Anyway, what’s on your plate for today?

The Sunday Salon: I Want…

This Sunday, I find myself wanting all sorts of things:

  • I want more time to do the things that I enjoy.
  • I want this headache to go away.
  • I want to never have to worry about the food that crosses my lips. Recent health issues have forced me to be more concerned about this and it’s…it’s NOT fun.
  • I want every book in the Persephone Catalogue and Claire from Kiss a Cloud is to blame for that. Her beautiful posts about the books have caught my eye and now I find myself desiring all of them.

This past week was a busy week. I posted my review of The Day the Falls Stood Still and also posted a Q&A with Cathy Marie Buchanan along with a giveaway of the book. The giveaway ends on Sept 18th so be sure to check it out.

I also posted a review of Secrets of a Christmas Box. Speaking of Christmas, I went shopping the other day and the Christmas ornaments were out (picture Ti running away screaming). I LOVE Christmas but it’s not even Halloween yet people.

My weekend so far has been okay. I didn’t do much yesterday except enjoy a lovely BBQ with friends. Today, the Hub is at work so I will probably take the kids for a bookstore run. My daughter is craving one of the chocolate chip cookies from the bookstore cafe so I’m sure we will be stopping for a treat or two.

Next week is Book Blogger Appreciation Week. It runs all week through Sept 18th and there will be all sorts of fun, bookish things going on. It should be a really fun week.

As for reading, I am reading The Last Dickens for an upcoming TLC book tour. What are you reading today?
