The Week Ahead: September 29-October 5, 2008

Looks like another busy week for me. Here’s what it looks end from my side of the planet:

Monday, September 29, 2008 – It’s Fall Break for my kids. No school for a week but they are going to daycare and there are some fun things scheduled. It’s also Banned Books Week. Planning to post a giveaway later this morning. In the afternoon I have yoga and then my son has rehearsal for The Music Man in the evening. Still trying to read The Meaning of Night. I am liking it a lot, but 700 pages?? I have to finish it by Thursday.

Tuesday, September 30, 2008 – Not much going on during the work day except lunch with an old director. Not that HE is old, but that he is my previous director. Oh! There is also a library book sale today. I will check it out. Later this afternoon I find out if my son has a callback for The Music Man. I have a hair appointment this evening (thank goodness) and then going out to dinner with a friend for her birthday. Plan to do some research on The Meaning of Night as well so I can take the info to my book group meeting later this week.

Wednesday, October 1, 2008 – I’ve been asked to do a guest lecture for a Communications class here on campus. It’s been difficult getting any info out of this professor so hopefully it will go well. This afternoon, more yoga. Will hopefully finish The Meaning of Night tonight while my son is at callbacks (assuming he gets one).

Thursday, October 2, 2008 – Teaching a class this morning. Book group tonight. Can’t wait. I also hope to begin my next read, In The Woods, by Tana French. I got this book from Jill and have been dying to read it.

Friday, October, 3 2008 – Nothing big planned at work. This evening my husband is taking my son to a high school football game. I will stay home with kidlet #2 and hopefully do some reading.

The Weekend – Saturday we are having a family BBQ to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, which is on Oct. 7th. Sunday we are having a huge party and she has invited all of her classmates. It’s at one of those inflatable party houses. No set-up or clean-up. Well worth it if you ask me.

That’s it for now. Anything special planned for your week?

The Week Ahead: September 22-28, 2008

Here’s to another week of happiness! Yeah, right. A bit too pollyanna(ish) for me but might as well start off on a happy note, right? I am enjoying these “week ahead” posts because they really do keep me in check as far as commitments and what’s coming up, but MAN, they seem to make me more aware that the days are just whizzing by.

Here is what I have coming up this week:

Monday, September 22, 2008 – Announcing the winner of my Greasy Rider giveaway today. Yoga class as noon (Ommmmm). I have parent/teacher conferences today so I will be leaving work early for them. I also have a PTO board meeting tonight so my husband has to run my son to rehearsal.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 – It’s time for the school’s book fair. We do ours through Mrs. Nelson’s and the kids always look forward to it. I’m posting my review of The Necklace later this morning. Also have to teach a class this morning.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 – I have a guest post up today over at She Is Too Fond Of Books. It’s part of Dawn’s “Spotlight on Bookstores” series. Be sure to check it out! Yoga at noon. Today Book Club Girl is hosting a radio blog show for Run. Check out the details here. Auditions for The Music Man tonight. Wish my kid luck! Tonight is also the season premier of Lipstick Jungle. I don’t follow too many shows on TV but I LOVE Lipstick Jungle. I have to record it though since I will be at auditions.

Thursday, September 25, 2008Everyday I Write The Book is hosting an online book club for Run. For more info on the online book club click here. Teaching a new class today. Should be interesting. I do technical training sometimes and new classes are always a challenge. I never know what is going to happen with the application or the participants.

Friday, September 26, 2008 – Doing the Happy Dance! Going to lunch with a co-worker friend today. Yay!

The Weekend – It’s the beginning of Fall Break for the kids. They get a week off from school but of course my husband and I don’t so they will be going to daycare along with all the other kids that aren’t taking a trip somewhere. Last year we went to Disney World so this year we are staying in town.

Have a good week!
