I am one of those readers that can really sink her teeth into a good book. Not just a good book, but a sweeping epic of sorts and Drood by Dan Simmons is one of those books. It’s hefty and weighs in at 775 pages but I am really enjoying it. I know that many of you are reading it too so when I came across this NPR review I thought I’d share.
Click here for the review. The review also mentions Twilight and I know many of us, with an exception of one or two loved the first book in the series.
Now, off I go to read some more, oh yeah.. and to work a bit.
The spa party that I was so looking forward to yesterday was cancelled so I was able to catch a bit of the red carpet action and all I have to say is that some of those dresses were just gorgeous. I didn’t see any outrageous ones this time around. I always wonder about those outrageous outfits I mean, someone has got to tell them that they look ridiculous before the head out of the house, right?
I did not see the actual award show because I went to dinner and a movie with one of my girlfriends. We saw Confessions of a Shopaholic which is based on the book by Sophie Kinsella.
I knew the movie would be cute but I expected it to be sort of silly but you know what? It was pretty good. I thought it was very well done and I love Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy. I haven’t read any of the books in the series but it was a fun, girly movie and looking at Hugh Dancy for a couple of hours wasn’t bad either.
If you haven’t seen it yet, take a girlfriend and go see it!
