The Short of It:

This is a classic story told in a beautiful way and accompanied by gorgeous illustrations/photographs.

The Rest of It:

My 6-year-old attended a theatre production of The Princess and the Pea and was taken with the story. A prince, on a quest to find his princess…the story that little girls everywhere adore and dream about. So as Christmas approached I searched high and low for a copy to give her on Christmas morning. I came across Lauren Child’s version and I have to tell you, I was wanting it for myself.

The story is a bit more modern than the versions I’ve read in the past and the illustrations…the photographs…they are just gorgeous!

As you can see from the photo, the book is made up of both drawings and photographs which gives the book a wonderful feel. It’s like stepping into the story and living it firsthand.

My daughter loved it! I loved it! It’s one that we will re-read often. If you have a little girl in your house that loves princesses as much as mine, check this one out.
