Buy Indie Day (Loot)

In honor of last week’s Buy Indie Day, I purchased two books from Vroman’s. What’s interesting about the purchase is that I didn’t know that Vroman’s even had online shopping. How cool is that? Here’s what I purchased:

Caspian Rain by Gina Nahai

Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo

I first heard of Caspian Rain at the Festival of Books while attending one of the fiction panels. I had never heard of Gina Nahai but the panel discussion intrigued me so I decided to pick it up. Bridge of Sighs is my book club’s pick for August so I thought I better pick that up too. What I totally forgot to buy was The Boneman’s Daughters! That is what I wanted to purchased in the first place. Oh well, I’ll pick it up next time.

  1. Those both look good. I went to our local indie and bought 4 books. They didn’t even know it was Buy Indie Day.

  2. Isn’t that how it goes…forgetting about what you meant to purchase in the first place! I’ve been wanting to read Bridge of Sighs for quite some time now.

  3. Those both have beautiful covers. I’m a sucker for a pretty book cover. I hope they’re just as good on the inside! šŸ™‚

  4. Shoot, I should have ordered <>Caspian Rain<> from Vroman’s. I ordered that and <>Foreign Tongue<> (another FoB discovery) from some other site. I’ll know better next time!

  5. The look great. I missed Indie spending.. however.. it isn’t too late. You know you can’t go wrong with Russo. Great purchases.

  6. I can’t wait to see what you think of Bridge of Sighs. I’ve been thinking of picking that one up. I loved Empire Falls.
