Fabulous Is a Great Word

Yvonne over at Socrate’s Book Reviews award me the Your Blog is Fabulous award! Thank you! One of the things I love most about the book blogging community is…well…the book bloggers! I have gotten to know so many of you through your reviews, Facebook and Twitter. It’s a nice distraction to say the least.

So now I must share the wealth and choose five blogs that are new or new-to-me. If you are already fabulous (which of course you are), no need to post about it, just revel in the fabulousness. Here they are:

Should Be Reading (been around but I just stumbled upon this one)

Page After Page
(been following for a month or so and I am so glad I found this site)

At Home With Books (found this one when another blogger referred me to one of her reviews, love it!)

Lost In Books (really getting to know this site through Twitter!)

Books Lists Life (been following this one for awhile but she and I have been overwhelmed with life lately so I thought I would share the fab award with her!. Lisa, DO NOT feel obligated to post about it. I certainly do not want to add to the pile. I just think your blog is fabulous!).

Enjoy!

The Sunday Salon: March 1, 2009

When I started to type this post up, I first wrote February (thinking it was still February) and then when I wrote March I typed 2008 (thinking it was still 2008). Boy…I’m a mess! I don’t know what month or year it is apparently.

It’s been a busy Sunday morning for me. I woke early to make pancakes but the mix was dead. Meaning, that the brand new box mix that I purchased must have been on the shelf too long as the pancakes were flat. Flat as a pancake. Now I know where that saying comes from. I tried to revive it by adding baking powder but guess what? That was dead too. My kids didn’t seem to care after I added a bunch of chocolate chips to them but they were really more like blintzes.

Being that I am a bit behind in everything, I spent the early morning hours typing up PTO minutes as they were due last Friday. I’m about to send them out but have to wait for confirmation on one item. I don’t know what I was doing during the meeting but my notes are not very legible.

I’m about to throw a load into the washer and write up my review of The Sum of Our Days. After that I should be able to relax a bit. Yesterday I went to the zoo and it was hot! I got sunburned! I put sunblock on everyone but me so I want to slather on some aloe and take it easy. I was diagnosed with Lupus almost 2 years ago and lately, I’ve felt that is has gone into remission but apparently not. The extreme reaction to the sun tells me so.

Later today I plan to watch Mamma Mia! and read a good chunk of Drood. After that we plan to BBQ some burgers. Maybe I will post some pictures later from yesterday’s zoo trip. What is everyone else doing today?
