The Sunday Salon: February 8, 2009

This weekend has been lovely. Yesterday we had a very nice lunch, ran an errand or two and then went to the bookstore. It was rainy with dark clouds looming overhead. What better place to spend the day than the bookstore? My kids ADORE the bookstore almost as much as I. My daughter found the fairy books and was in heaven.

My son is dying to read the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book but I am waiting for it to come from the publisher. He wanted to take this cutout home but I convinced him to take a picture with it instead.

I didn’t buy anything. I have a gift card burning a hole in my wallet but all the books that I was considering, were not in stock. I did manage to hit the music section to sample David Cook’s new album. Um, I think I need to buy it soon. It’s really good.

I spent the rest of the evening curled up on the couch with The Terror. I am almost done with it. I have to surround myself in blankets when I read it though. It takes place in the Arctic and you really feel as if you are right there with the characters.

So what’s on my plate for today? Nothing! I am doing the happy dance over saying it too. I sent my husband to the store. The kids are working on school work and I plan to finish reading my book. Later today my son is taking a friend to the movies to see Mall Cop (groan) with my husband and my daughter and I plan to BBQ a steak and just take it easy. We may watch Mamma Mia! as I have yet to see it.

What are you doing today?

  1. Sounds like a great weekend Ti. I know I’ve said it before but you have a couple of great looking kids. They both looked like they were having a blast at the bookstore. Mostly I’m glad to hear that you have nothing on your plate for today except relaxing!

  2. Your kids looked like they were having a blast. That fairy book looks good too. I love visiting the bookstore, could stay in there for hours.

  3. Glad you finally get to have a lazy Sunday! I’m alternating between reading, napping, and watching Gossip Girl on DVD…hubby’s out of town, so I’ve been left to all my own self-indulgent tendencies. It’s not bad.
