The Week Ahead: December 1-7, 2008

I know my weeks are often crazy, but this week is going to be insane. It’s all fun stuff, but I’m wondering how all of this got booked.

Here’s my crazy, crazy week:

Monday, December 1, 2008 – It’s December! Ack! I am not feeling all that great today so I am staying home from work. I will be announcing the winner of my Pretty Monsters giveaway this morning. Later, I have a PTO Potluck which is our holiday party so we’ll see how I feel when the time comes. My son has rehearsal tonight but Hubby will take him.

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 – Back at work today. I have to catch-up on quite a bit here at work but it will be a good day for that. No meetings to speak of. I hope to post my review of Forever Lily sometime today. Later tonight, I am going to dinner with a friend. It’s our holiday dinner as friends and we are doing a book exchange. I don’t know yet where we are going but I have the book all picked out. I can’t share the title because she reads this blog but she will enjoy it.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 – Today is my last yoga class for the semester. I get to take a class during work hours and yoga was it for this semester. Next semester I plan to take a digital photography class so no more downward facing dog poses, at least for awhile. I have a work meeting to attend after lunch and then nothing for tonight. Yay! I plan to watch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Why? Although there is no hope of EVER looking like those women, one likes to dream. It’s good to dream. Sure it is. I could wake up tomorrow with legs as long as the state of California.

Thursday, December 4, 2008 – I will be leaving work early today to go to the doctor. Tonight is my Holiday Book Group meeting. We normally meet at the library but tonight we meet at the leader’s house. The event includes food…something that we normally cannot have at the library and we will be doing a Yankee Trader Book Exchange. I have to figure out what book to bring. I also have to figure out what food item to bring as I will be coming from work. We will be discussing The Inheritance of Loss but I did not finish it. I had so many other books on my plate that I did not allow myself enough time for this one.

Friday, December 5, 2008 – Another day at work, but later this evening is Holiday Family Night at my kids’ school. Guess who is playing Santa? Yep, Hubby. It’s a PTO event so I will be working it and somehow keeping track of my daughter while catering to my Hubby in full costume. He played Santa once before but it’s difficult to get him dressed in so little time. Especially if he gets stuck in traffic.

The Weekend – Saturday is Merry Member Night at the zoo. We plan to visit with the animals for a bit, go to dinner and then come back for the Reindeer Romp. Sunday is the big Holiday Dinner Show that my kids are in. They have been rehearsing for six weeks and I am happy to say that my daughter is no longer lip syncing. It will be a long day. Their call time is 2:30 and the show is not until 6:30pm. We have a front row table though. It should be fun.

I am completely wiped out from typing that. I know there is stuff that I forgot to list too. What do you have planned this week?

The Sunday Salon: November 30, 2008

Why is it that five days off from work goes by so quickly? It seems like yesterday that I was driving home looking forward to my time off. UGH.

This morning is a bit up in the air for me. One of my in-laws spent the night last night and is leaving this morning. Not sure exactly when but it was a nice visit.

I am currently reading Forever Lily by Beth Nonte Russell. It’s about a mother and her experience with the adoption process in China. Actually, it’s about a lot more than that and I am loving it. It is beautifully written. I am about halfway through the book and hope to post the review by Monday…Tuesday at the latest.

This afternoon the kids have rehearsal and my hubby and I plan to do a bit more shopping until they are done. Their show is next week and I am not sure they are ready. I say this for every show and it ALWAYS comes together but I always have my doubts.

This evening… just plan to make a simple meal and enjoy some reading. Next week is incredibly busy for me so I really need the break to mentally prepare for it.

What do you have planned today?
