They Grow Up So Fast

Today, I registered my daughter for Kindergarten. I cannot believe it. Even with all the sleepless nights (and there were many), the time went by so quickly! This pic was taken when she was a mere 1 month old. So young, so sweet, so quiet!

She is still as sweet as can be, but man.. does she talk! I love the conversations we have. I was not feeling that great a few weeks back and my husband described me as being “as sick as a dog”. My daughter came running into the house that day, came right up to me with this big grin on her face and said “Daddy said you were as sick as the dog, so do we have a dog now?”

Her brother gets to share in these conversations, and at the age of 9, he doesn’t always take them with a grain of salt. However, I do think he adores his sis, he just doesn’t want anyone to know it! We’ll see how they do when they are both in the same school together. They have totally different personalities and although I know people always says that each kid is different, you just don’t believe until you see it for yourself.

Here is a recent pic of my daughter. She looks as if she can take on the world.. and frankly, I hope she does.

Till tomorrow,

Weekend Plans

I just enjoyed a very nice lunch with a co-worker and now I am all ready for the weekend. It’s supposed to be a damp one this weekend. Not a lot of rain but drizzle here and there. I love rainy days when I can spend them at home.

Tonight.. not much planned but tomorrow we have lots going on. Ballet, taxes and the Blue and Gold dinner for Scouts. The dinner will be a longggg event. Always is, but the kids seem to enjoy it. Although this year they are doing Chinese food and my son will not touch Chinese food with a 10 ft pole (or chopstick!). My little one will try anything. She’s like her Mom.

Oh…almost forgot about Oscar weekend. I haven’t seen too many of the movies but I always enjoy the pre-Oscar coverage. I hope to make something yummy and just hunker down to watch it. Rain, jammies..maybe even get the fireplace going. That sounds nice, doesn’t it? Ok, how many more hours of work do I have?
