The sun is up and so am I. After a full day, well almost full day of reading for the 2009 Read-a-Thon, I hit the sack and then couldn’t fall asleep! I turned in at 2am and probably did not fall asleep until 4am. I woke this morning to an empty house and a raging sore throat. The empty house part was sort of nice, but not the sore throat. Taking vitamin c now.
This was my first read-a-thon and it was a lot of fun. If I ever do this again, I will definitely put more thought into the books I read and try to schedule my reading time a bit differently. I spent a lot of time reading other blogs to see what was going on with them, and then keeping up with the read-a-thon page and challenges . Since the kids were in the house, it took awhile for me to get settled back into reading each time I strayed from the book.
That said, I cannot believe the amount of effort that went into this event. It’s truly impressive and I think all of us had a really good time being a part of it.
Today at noon, I will be logging on to Ticketmaster to (hopefully) get tickets to some of the Festival of Book panels that takes place next weekend.
I’m still half asleep so that’s it for now 🙂
Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Ooh, me too (with the LA times festival). What are you going to see?
Well done on taking part in the readathon. I hope your sore throat goes soon. Happy Sunday.
Hope your throat stops hurting soon! I tried my best to keep blogging to a minimum while still being aware of what was going on. It was hard though, I was curious!
Just wanted to say…see you this weekend and I can’t wait to meet you! 🙂
Sounds like you’re going to see cool panels. I’m coming from WeHo, and I’ll be going to the Unknown LA panel, but mostly I’ll just be wandering among the books drooling (and spending far too much money). I love the Festival of Books!
this is a massive event. and I had a great time as a first time read-a-thoner too…I think we should get induction pins or something.
I hope you are feeling better soon.
I agree with you, if (when!) I do this again, I’m going to pick my reads more carefully and maybe take more breaks!
