It’s a beautiful day in So Cal. It’s about 72 degrees and gorgeous! I’ve been visiting blogs and from the looks of it, many of you are thinking about Summer and putting your reading lists together. I am not quite there yet. We had some funky weather which sort of delayed that feeling for me, but now that it’s sunny again and all the stores are pushing their outdoor stuff, I’m started to get excited about it.

But, do I have a Summer reading list yet? Uh…no. However, I normally pick some heavier reads for Summer so it may take awhile for me to come up with my list.

On to other things…

I haven’t shared photos of the Otter Pup lately so here are a few along with a brief update. She’s still doing great. We love her to pieces. She’s gained 2 lbs. since we adopted her and weighs in at a hefty (ha!) 7 lbs. She is quite the personality. Chloé knows her name now but comes to “Baby” which makes me think that is what her previous owner called her. She’s about 8 months old now.

Here she is getting a suntan. With her blond highlights and her Hollywood tan, she fits right into the California lifestyle. See that smile? Each time you click on the photo it should get bigger. I love her little pouty mouth.

Today is a lazy day. I ran one errand (can’t seem to escape them) and then later we are hitting my MIL’s for a BBQ. My nephew is home from Afghanistan for a short visit so we’ll visit with him a bit. Until that time though, I plan to hang out with the book I’m reading, The Raising. I rolled my eyes by page 58, but now I am pretty into it.

Oh, and while flipping channels I stumbled across an AbFab marathon. I love that show, so I’ll have to sneak a few peeks at it in between reading. What are you doing today?

I spent the entire weekend eating, reading, watching TV and napping and not necessarily in that order. This morning I woke up and noticed that the Sci-Fi channel was running a marathon of Land of the Lost. Remember that show? My kids and I sat down and laughed at all the cheesy special effects. Will was such a hottie. He reminded me of Greg Brady.

After dosing myself with Tylenol and Codeine, I passed out and then woke to an empty house. Turns out the Hub took the kids for Slurpees so I had the house to myself. I took that opportunity to finish The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan and cried my eyes out. It’s such a good book. I cannot wait to hear Kelly Corrigan on Book Club Girl’s Blog Talk Show this Wednesday. Click here for more info on that.

We just threw the burgers, hot dogs and corn on the grill so it looks like dinner is well on its way to the table. We’ll sit out on the patio tonight and enjoy the view and then I may have another Tylenol and Codeine cocktail to wash it all down.

My entire day is centered around the premier of 24 (Season 7) that begins tonight at 8pm PST. I love Kiefer Sutherland. I love it when he goes nuts and runs all over heck to save the world. I was especially entertained when the City of Santa Clarita was nuked a couple of seasons back (as I live in Santa Clarita). They shoot 24 here quite often so it’s a little bit too real for me sometimes, but fun!

We plan to order Chinese take-out, put the kids to bed and then enjoy the show. That means I have to get a few things done today. For one, some reading. Still working on Twilight but should be done today. I am also starting The Terror. A friend of mine said it was the best book he’s ever read so I can’t ignore it any longer. I have to put some props together for the production of The Music Man which is in two weeks! I also have to rehearse some lines and blocking with my son as he was so out of it from the surgery this past week and couldn’t stay for the entire blocking rehearsal. I am also in need of a new printer and the market is tossed in there somewhere.

That’s a lot to do, isn’t it? So much for a lazy Sunday. I’m still waiting for the male part of this family to wake as they got home close to 1am from the Monster Truck show last night. Hopefully they’ll wake soon as I feel the need to get going.

On a side note, it is absolutely beautiful here in Southern California today. Blue skies and I can tell it may even get warm! What’s on your plate today?

Anyway… the audition process is brutal! Singing while on an exercise bike, dancing in stilettos on a cobblestone street, etc. I had no desire to see this show at all but I’ve decided that when it comes to L.A. in August ’09, that I am going to go. If you don’t have a lot of time to watch stuff like this, TIVO it like I do and watch it while you are eating breakfast. You can also watch full episodes online.
