Wait , what was I doing again?

So far, this has not been a productive week for me. The Saturday track meets are fun but they take up my “to-do” day. I usually spend Saturdays cleaning and or shopping but none of that happens on track meet day so then it gets shoved into the open spaces during the week.

I end up with strange lunch combinations since the pantry is in need of supplies.

My family ends up with mismatched clothes because I am unable to do ALL of the laundry and end up doing only half at a time. Which means that the perfect outfit is ruined (ask my daughter) because I did not wash said pants and top together at once.

The Otter Pup does not have her favorite treats and therefore, barfed on my pillow.

With no Saturday to do stuff and my evenings filled with other activities, I have no time to get my own stuff in order. As of last week I was doing okay on the reading front but this one book put a halt to my reading. Not because it’s bad. I was enjoying it but the pace slowed down and now I have completely lost interest in it. It’s horrible when this happens because it’s ruined me for other books.

When I do have time to do anything, I sit down and completely forget what it was I had planned to do.

Two more track events for The Girl, and two weeks of pre-show prep for The Teen’s high school play and then hopefully things will slow down a little. But, did I tell you that The Girl signed up to do GREASE this summer?

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in so you didn’t think I fell off the planet.

  1. Hmmm…thank God for FB! I always know if you are ok!

    • The days fly by when I am in too busy so I tend to forget how long I have been away from the blog. I have reviews written but they need to be reviewed since I wrote them last week. Who knows what I put in them? LOL.

I just don’t feel like doing anything at the moment.

  2. Oy vey! Barf on your pillow!

  3. I love hearing about your track days. I ran track and my daughter ran 7 grade through sophmore in college. Good memories.

  4. I don’t have nearly as much going on but I feel like a blog right now. I don’t want to do anything!

  5. Ti, Ti, Ti. I so get it. This is why it took me a month and a half to read a 300 page book. I always tell myself that “things are going to slow down soon” but it never does! Maybe telling ourselves that keeps us a tiny bit sane. Those track meets are fun but so long and time-consuming. All I have to say is, thank God track seasons are relatively short. And summer will be here soon. Not that this helps (at least it doesn’t for me) but it is a change of routine.

  6. You are always busy busy busy. I know the feeling. I hope things slow down a bit for you. I tend to read poetry when I get into a slump with fiction or some short stories

  7. I know how you feel. When I get so busy, if there’s any moment to spare, I do exactly the same thing – sit down and completely forget about doing anything I’d planned to do. It’s like my mind and body needs a little do-nothing time to recharge.

  8. Sounds like life is pretty crazy for you right now. Summer is coming, right? Hope it brings some relief.

    • It will be a non-summer with the Teen taking no less than three summer school classes this time around.

  9. Oh no .. that sounds like a crazy week so far. I hate it too when I miss chores, but it isn’t too hard for me to do it next day. I can imagine how much more busy it will be once there are kids.

  10. Yikes! It’s posts like yours that remind me of the old days and that I’m really not as busy now as I think I am! Your memory will come back eventually!

    • It’s funny because it’s almost as if I go into a self-induced memory lapse. I find it oddly comforting to sit there and do nothing. LOL. But the reading! Ugh! I was on such a role but this book did a number on me. It’s good but all of a sudden it bored me. I am trying to write up all my pending reviews so I can get them out of my head and move on.

  11. I hate when I lose interest in a book. I feel guilty to start another one but I can’t get myself motivated to pick up the uninteresting one again. Then I waffle for weeks before I just either buckle down and finish reading it, or give up altogether and just start a new one. But it always messes me up and delays my decision forever! Good luck!

  12. Thanks for the update. Life takes precedence over all.

  13. Ha! What are the chances that things at your house will really slow down?! I was secretly glad when my kids were all done with sports and I finally had my Saturdays back.

  14. OMG Grease will be so much fun!!!

Good luck to making it through the next couple of weeks, and then hopefully, you will get back to a “normal” schedule!! ;)
